Riverdale fans are waiting to see how Luke Perry’s death will be addressed by the show and how his character Fred Andrews will be written out.
He has left Riverdale town for the time being and Mary Andrews (played by Molly Ringwald) has returned to the show to fill the parental void left by Fred’s exit.
Fans of The CW show have been wanting to know what will happen and how it will affect Fred’s son Archie Andrews (KJ Apa).
Now KJ has spoken to Entertainment Tonight about Luke’s death and what the plans are for Fred’s exit.
He revealed: "We're definitely gonna obviously have to address it at some point. [Possibly] that [means] Molly stepping in as more of an active parent for Archie, but that all depends on the availability of the actors around us. So, you know, we'll do what we can."
Has he just teased that Mary will become a more permanent character in Riverdale?
She returns to restore some sort of order to Archie’s life and fans would like to see her stay.
KJ also revealed his thoughts on Luke’s death: "His legacy is gonna live on in the lives around him, that he worked with, you know? I'm never gonna forget him and I think it's still very fresh and we're all still dealing with it."
He also spoke on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon about his death:
"Everyone was pretty shocked. It's not every day that you come across a guy like Luke. Luke is the kind of guy who did everything he can to make whoever you are, no matter how big or small you are, feel comfortable or welcome. It's hard to kind of put into words how that makes me feel.
