Tommy Robinson left the campaign trail covered in milkshake after a confrontation with a young man in Warrington, Cheshire on Thursday. Social media footage shows the controversial independent candidate talking among a group of young men before one member is seen hurling his drink at Mr Robinson. The incident appeared to spark a brawl between Mr Robinsons’s entourage and the young man before others at the scene intervened to stop the fight.
The incident in Warrington marked the second time Mr Robinsons, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, was at the receiving end of a drink in the face in just two days.
The founder of the English Defence League (EDL) announced last week he is running to represent the North West of England for May’s European parliamentary election.
The 36-year-old has pledged to represent "the working class of England" if elected as an Independent MEP.
In a statement on his website, the far-right activist wrote of his intention to stand at the upcoming European Parliament ballot.
