Lucy Alexander, 48, spoke out after fellow presenter Piers Morgan, 54, slammed Marks & Spencer’s decision to remove the gelatine from popular snack Percy Pigs in order to make them suitable vegetarians. The former Homes Under The Hammer host shared her opinion on the debate on Twitter in view of her 24,000 followers. She wrote: “Oh no, slightly worried. I hear M&S have taken gelatine out of my favourite sweets? “Please let it all still taste the same? I need Percy Pigs in my life ALWAYS #percypigs #savethepigs #lucyshappyplace.” Lucy’s statement on the sweets comes after Piers fumed about the the shop’s choice to get rid of the ingredient, which is taken from animal body parts, on Good Morning Britain. He angrily said in response to reports: "It's a pig, it's called Percy the Pig!" The outspoken star continued: “Get your own damn sweets! Seriously, vegans, vegetarians, go and get your own sweets, "Seriously, go and get sweets that aren't called Percy Pig. Go and get ones called 'Kale Nicies' which taste disgusting but you can all feel happy because they're made of kale. Leave our pig sweets alone you people."(sic) Meanwhile, Lucy’s followers were quick to offer their thoughts on the issue in the comments section of her tweet. One wrote: “They’ll be doing pig-free pork scratchings next. What’s wrong with giving people the choice? If you want vegan, buy it. If you don’t, buy meat. Don’t tell us what we can and can’t eat.”All rights reserved for this news site express.co.uk and under his responsibility
