Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's MAJOR ROLE in helping the UK overseas REVEALED

The foreign secretary said he would be "supportive of anything" the Duke and Duchess of Sussex can do to fly the flag for Britain overseas. His comments came after The Sunday Times reported last month that Meghan, 37, and Harry, 34, are planning to relocate to Africa after they have become a family of three to build on their work for the Commonwealth. Mr Hunt, who is wrapping up a week-long tour of Africa, said he would like to see the UK’s relationship with Africa “reset”.

The Cabinet minister, 52, who is tipped as a future Conservative leader, said Britain’s “main motives” were aid budgets and he would like to see a shift in this. 

Speaking as American-born Meghan enters the final stages of her pregnancy, Mr Hunt said her royal wedding to Harry partially contributed to the UK coming out on top of the global ranking of nations’ soft power last year. 

While he insisted he would be in favour of the royal couple taking their causes onto the global stage he said Meghan and Harry should be left to decide for themselves what they will do.
