#Vikings Ragnar predicted son's death amid comeback twist?

Fans of History channel’s Vikings are waiting for the arrive of the final season and have come to the conclusion that Ragnar Lothbrok (played by Travis Fimmel) could return to the show in some way.

The story currently focuses on Ragnar’s sons, Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) and Ivar the Boneless (Alex Høgh Andersen) but one of the show original heroes could be set for a comeback.

However viewers have speculated that if he does return, possibly in the form of flashbacks, his character will eventually be in store for even more heartbreak.

The speculation over Ragnar’s possible return began when the former King was seen alongside his on-screen son in an Instagram post on Alexander’s account.

“It would have been a deliberate choice by the director, perhaps just for the visual effect, but spilling red wine has traditional associations in the west, because it reminds us of blood perhaps.

“I wouldn't have thought it was the Vikings' usual picnic beverage. All credit to Travis Fimmel.”

Could the symbolism of the red wine suggest that Ragnar predicted the death of his one or both of his sons?

Perhaps Ragnar will return in a vision during the death scene of one of his sons, as their lives flash before their eyes?

The final season is sure to focus on the ensuing war between Bjorn and Ivar and it is possible that one of Ragnar's sons will be sacrificed in the fight.

Alexander posted a picture of the duo eating a waffle and fans have taken this as a hint that the pair may have been filming scenes together.

Ragnar was tragically killed in season four of the show and it is unlikely the character would be resurrected in some way.

However he may appear in the form of a vision or flashback, offering his sons advice or confirming which side he would be on if he was still alive.
