Martin Compston, 34, made a stunning revelation about the final episode of Line of Duty during an appearance on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch this morning. The actor, who plays DS Steve Arnott, admitted although he is “chuffed” with the attention the drama is receiving this year, he is also excited for series five to finally be over. Martin went on to explain that viewers repeatedly barrage him about spoilers on Twitter. He made the surprising comment to hosts Tim Lovejoy, 51, and Simon Rimmer, 56, saying: “I’m chuffed with the attention the show's getting,
“But one of the reasons I can't wait for it to be over is because, like, I can put out a tweet saying, 'Just had a sausage roll on Sunday Brunch', and I guarantee somebody will tweet me back going 'Please no spoilers.’”
However, in spite of the endless social media attention, Martin shared his hopes that the show’s dedicated fans will not be disappointed with the finale.
He divulged: "There will be a few big pay-offs and some things resolved."
The star also teased some big news about the future of the programme, adding: "The show has been commissioned for another series, but who knows who'll make it there."
