Now the beach beckons Britons back to bask in what's set to be a glorious lift in temperatures. But before this happens Met Office Meteorologist Becky Mitchell said: “Tuesday morning's forecast reveals a chilly start out there, with a patchy frost around and some showers. But, those showers are fairly scattered though so it will be a dry start for some places.”
The sun will break through in the north first, as the Met Office said: “Scotland will have a bright and sunny start to the day, there will be the same sunshine for many northern counties.
“But, there is more in the way of cloud as you head further south and that cloud could bring some showery outbreaks of rain.”
After Scotland, Cornwall and the extreme south west will be next to receive the sun’s bounty.
