Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s new son was delivered at 5.26am on Monday. Buckingham Palace said the baby weighed 7ibs 3oz and the Duke of Sussex was by his wife’s side for the birth. The duchess was reportedly taken to private hospital The Portland, in London, to give birth.

Soon after the news of the birth broke, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were among the royal family members sent their congratulations.
Buckingham Palace released a joint statement from many of the royals, including the Queen, Prince Philip and Prince Charles, on Monday.
The statement said: "The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Lady Jane Fellowes, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Earl Spencer have been informed and are delighted with the news.
"The duchess's mother, Doria Ragland, who is overjoyed by the arrival of her first grandchild, is with their Royal Highnesses at Frogmore Cottage."
