The US President revealed one specific European nation is receiving $5billion (£7.7billion) from the United States. While he refused to name the country, Trump said he has asked for the money back. He added the country “probably doesn’t like us too much”. Trump later said the EU "absolutely kills us on trade".

Trump said in his speech: “A lot of countries we’re paying, it’s for fair what’s happening.
“They’re paying us a tiny fraction in some cases.
“We defend Europe, it's not fair.
“They’re not paying what they should be paying, we’ll work it out.
