Season four of Lucifer has sent fans into meltdown as they love the more dramatic and revealing portrayal of Lucifer on Netflix, compared to when the show was on Fox.

A season five of the show has not been commissioned yet, but it would be hard for bosses to ignore the fan clamour for the show to go on.

Now, Lucifer star Tom Ellis has weighed into the argument and is all for more seasons.

He told Collider: "I feel like we haven't finished telling our story yet, without giving too many spoilers away.

"With any show you could ultimately finish at the end of any season, and you're either left with a massive cliffhanger and people are left unsatisfied, or you get the opportunity to tell your story until the end.

"I think that we would all love to come back and do a season five. We'll just have to see what Netflix says.”

That confirms it then. If Lucifer himself says a season five should be made then it should happen.

He also spoke about the move from Fox to Netflix and explains why moving to ten episodes, a lot less than when on Fox, has improved the quality.

He said: "What happens when you're on a network and you have to do 22 episodes is that you end up diluting and elongating and really stretching out a story. It's quite a challenge.
