Ben, 44, was standing in for Piers Morgan, 53, on Good Morning Britain today, with Kate Garraway, 52, keeping the seat warm for Susanna Reid, 48. At the beginning of this morning’s show, Ben and Kate were eagerly anticipating an upcoming interview with star of the hugely anticipated live action remake of Aladdin. Joined by showbiz reporter Richard Arnold, 49, and news reporter Sean Fletcher, 45, the presenters discussed the addition of a giant lamp in the studio. To show viewers the exact size of the lamp, Ben introduced one of the ITV show's crew members to compare the magnitude of the prop with their height. After showing the prop, Ben said: “Shall we get some scale because then you’ll see just how big it it,” before bringing on crew member Alex. “Alex is one of the biggest of our crew,” Ben remarked, before the presenter joked: “Look at the size of Alex’s lamp.” With the crew member going to to reenact the moment Aladdin rubs the lamp to welcome the genie, Ben stopped him in his tracks, warning him: “You’re not allowed to rub it.” Adding to Ben’s remark, Kate jumped in and exclaimed: “Don’t you rub it young man,” with Alex seen cowering away from the prop. Richard couldn’t help himself and cheekily remarked: “If you rub it hard enough, you’ll get big puff,” with the studio erupting into laughter. “How many times has that been used in panto, do you think?” Ben chimed, with Richard adding: “It’s been used several times on this show.” More to follow...All rights reserved for this news site express.co.uk and under his responsibility
