On May 1, comedian Freddie Starr took to his Facebook account and told his followers he was “getting tired now” but admitted he was “doing good". The late 76-year-old wrote: “Hello everyone hope everyone is ok? Me, yes I'm ok getting tired more now but otherwise I'm doing good. “I just have to say thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all the kind comments and messages it really does mean a lot so thank you to each and everyone of you thanks so much. Freddie.” In recent months, Freddie had taken to social media to keep in touch with his fans and posted what is thought to be the last picture update of him, where he joked his diet plan was going well.
In January, the star shared a snap of himself as he smiled at the camera, sporting a yellow T-shirt, as he stood against a sunny backdrop.
He captioned the photo: “Diet going well!” followed by a laughing emoji.
According to The Mirror, the Opportunity Knocks star was found dead on the floor of his Costa Del Sol apartment by a carer yesterday.
A neighbour, who asked not to be named, told the newspaper: “His carer found him dead in his chair around 3.30pm. Police arrived first and then later an ambulance arrived and he was taken away.
“His next door neighbour who is a nurse said he was definitely dead,” they added.
Another source told the publication: “He’s been quite ill ever since he moved in and has barely left his apartment since moving in a couple of years ago.
