Jacob Gallagher (played by Joe-Warren Plant) has found himself at the centre of one of the ITV soaps most talked about storylines ever. Jacob’s dad David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) discovered his son was in a relationship with Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein), despite being 15 when the romance first began. With Jacob and David’s relationship put under an almighty strain because of the situation, some Emmerdale fans have pointed out that Jacob isn’t actually David’s biological son.
David Metcalfe is not the biological father of Jacob Gallagher.
Emmerdale viewers have witnessed David raise Jacob as his own for almost 10 years.
Jacob’s real father, however, is, in fact, Justin Gallagher (Andrew Langtree).
ITV soap fans haven’t seen Justin on-screen since 2012 and the character has very little to do with his on-screen son’s life.
David decided to take on the role of Jacob’s dad following a relationship with Jacob’s adoptive mum Alicia Harding (Natalie Anderson).
