On this week's Brexit The Final Countdown podcast, presenter Rebecca Hutson was joined by Express.co.uk Video News Editor Thomas Hunt and Brussels correspondent Joe Barnes. Mr Hunt argued Dutch MEP Sophie In ’t Veld was highlighting the EU’s “naivety and arrogance” as she insisted the EU shouldn’t worry about Nigel Farage and his Brexit Party. Joe Barnes agreed and said: “Parties in and pro-European candidates in Brussels who generally dominate European Parliament have basically taken an executive decision to not speak about Brexit.
“Because they see the European Union as the next five years rather than the next six months before we apparently leave on the 31st of October.
“I was speaking with Dutch MEP Sophie In ’t Veld and she was like there is no reason for the EU to be worried about any Brexit party MEPs or Nigel Farage.
“She said Nigel Farage has been in European Parliament for 20 years, he might have been a bit noisy but he has never successfully disrupted European Parliament.
The Brexit Final Countdown host concluded that that mindset was particularly “dangerous” before asking what Mr Hunt made of the MEP’s comments.
He said: “This just shows either the naivety or arrogance and I can’t work out which one it is.
