The leaflet states that the public should lobby against any MP who has so far voted down Theresa May’s Brexit deal. According to The Daily Telegraph, the document heaps the pressure on rebel Tory MPs which has sparked outrage from the former International Development secretary Priti Patel. Ms Patel labelled the leaflet as a "new low" for the party as Mrs May continues to hold onto the idea that she may be able to avoid the EU elections at the end of the month.
Ms Patel said: “The Conservative party has reached a new low when it is campaigning against its own Members of Parliament.
“It is totally unbelievable."
The leaflet was sent out from the Conservative Office in Westminster just under a week after Minister of the Cabinet Office, David Lidington announced that the party would indeed campaign in the European Parliament elections.
The pamphlet, which was reportedly signed off by Mrs May’s political Cabinet, says: “How can these elections be stopped?
