The Chief Secretary to the Treasury has remained adamant the UK should either exit the EU with some form of Theresa May’s deal or take the option of a no deal Brexit. Speaking on the BBC programme, Ms Truss insisted anyone who wants to remove a no deal Brexit from the negotiating table is jeopardising the vote. Ms Truss also boldly rejected any possible extension to the UK’s departure date as she insisted that the Government has already “lost a huge amount of trust” by not leaving already.
Speaking to BBC Newsnight host, Emily Maitlis Ms Truss stated: “There will be an impact from a no deal Brexit which we are trying to minimise.
“But those people who rule out a no deal Brexit.
“Who say that it must be taken off the table, are simply saying that they’re prepared to never leave the EU.
“People will lose trust in politics and politicians if we don’t deliver this.”
