Two of Coronation Street’s oldest friends were locked in battle in last night’s episodes after a huge move by Roy (played by David Neilson) placed Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) in serious danger.
Roy’s friend Carla (Alison King) is in hospital after suffering a serious mental deterioration since the death of Rana Habeeb (Bhavna Limbachia) in the factory roof collapse.
After visits from Roy and dad Johnny Connor (Richard Hawley), Carla was desperate to see lover Peter and would do anything to see him in the ITV soap.
Fearing the worst and possibly losing Carla again, Roy implored Ken (William Roache) to take Peter out of rehab to come and rescue Carla.
If anything happens to Peter I will never forgive you

Ken was angered by even the suggestion and told Roy in no uncertain terms he would not do it.
Then, unbeknown to Ken, Roy contacted Peter and brought him back to the hospital to help deal with Carla.
Furious with one of his closest friend’s betrayal, Ken let rip at Roy: “You’ve jeopardised my son’s health and recovery.”
Roy said he understood his anger and asked for his forgiveness, which only provoked Ken even more.
He yelled: “No you don’t understand because you’re not a father. You went against my wishes
