A Change.org petition has been aimed at the show’s writers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss ahead of Sunday’s series finale and has reached more than 915,000 signatures. The petition began last Sunday by a user named Dylan D. from Fort Worth and is aiming to garner a million signatures, according to The Washington Post. The petitioner wrote on Change.org: “David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have proven themselves to be woefully incompetent writers when they have no source material (i.e. the books) to fall back on.
“This series deserves a final season that makes sense.
“Subvert my expectations and make it happen, HBO!”
The success of the petition is the latest sign that fans are now taking matters into their own hands.
Not only are fans demanding HBO for a season eight remake, but others have duped Google’s algorithm into having a picture of Mr Benioff and Mr Weiss show up under the search term “bad writers”.
