For Prince Harry, it was fate he met and fell madly in love with the American former actor thanks to a mystery mutual friend who introduced them. The romance blossomed quickly and despite hailing from different backgrounds the grandson of the Queen and the US divorcee soon became inseparable. When interviewed on the day they announced their engagement Harry described how destiny appeared to intervene in their lives.
He said: “So the fact that I fell in love with Meghan so incredibly quickly was sort of confirmation to me that everything - all the stars - were aligned. Everything was just perfect.
“It was this beautiful woman just sort of literally tripped and fell into my life, I fell into her life.”
When news of their relationship broke several months later, smitten Harry was described as being happier than he had been in years.
Naturally the head-over-heels soon-to-be Duke wanted the very best for his bride ahead of their lavish wedding at St George’s Chapel in Windsor.
But in a cruel twist of fate, a freak weather event almost ruined his plans, according to the NZ Herald.
