His comments dismiss Brexit Secretary’s Stephen Barclay’s preparation in the event of a no deal. Mr Hammond will accuse advocates of a no-deal Brexit of trying to "hijack" the result of the referendum.
But the move will spar fury among Eurosceptic Tories.
A Cabinet source told The Sun: “It looks like they’ll just kick the can down the road again on no deal. It’s always the easiest thing to do.”
