Leave supporter Priti Patel argued that the Conservative Party needed fresh leadership to help instil confidence in the party. She added that people needed faith that the Tory party could not only implement Brexit but deal with the other issues surrounding the country. She began by saying: “First of all I don’t think anyone from the current government can, I actually think we need a clean sweep.
“I think we need a new generation, a new generation that actually believes in Conservative values.”
The TalkRadio host then questioned whether that meant that Mrs Patel was not in favour of Boris Johnson as the next Tory leader.
She replied: “I actually mean people who are in government right now.
“People who are complicit with this dishonesty around Brexit, people who have failed to deliver Brexit as well.
“We are in this situation now where we have people blaming each other about Brexit non-delivery.
