Within the past year, Love Island contestants Sophie Gradon and Mike Thalassitis have taken their own lives following their appearance on the reality show. Briony Williams, 33, who made it through to the semi-final of the Great British Bake Off last year, referred to the deaths as “scary” and praised Channel 4 production company Love Productions for their continuous support and aftercare. Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Briony said: “With things that have happened with Love Island, it’s really scary, but Love Productions at Channel 4… I have felt really looked after by them.”

Despite the last series ending in October, the baker said she would still feel comfortable contacting the show for help if she needed it.
She added: “I still know now that if I need anything, I can go to them. It’s not an issue, I would definitely say they’ve got it right.”
Speaking of her time during the show, she continued: “They really do look after you and your wellbeing and make sure you are doing okay and not feeling the pressure too much.”
