In the wake of those failed talks, Tory MP Bernard Jenkin insisted Nigel Farage has been able to argue the two parties are trying to sabotage Brexit. Speaking on BBC Newsnight, Mr Jenkin also accused Mrs May’s of producing a deal that is “neither fish or foul”. The Tory MP agreed heavy Conservative losses in Thursday’s EU Parliament elections are likely.
Mr Jenkin added: “Nigel Farage has accused the two main parties of conspiring in a coalition against the people.
“We’ve played into Farage’s hands.
“And I fear we will see a heavy defeat in the EU election.”
Mr Jenkin’s comments come after Mrs May admission that if MPs back her deal, then there would be the chance of another referendum.
