Yesterday, a man was charged with assault after throwing a milkshake over Mr Farage – but it looks unlikely to deter the Brexiteer's commitment to ensuring Britain leaves the EU. According to Arron Banks, the businessman who paid for Mr Farage’s campaign to leave the EU, he has “unbelievable stamina”. It is this stamina which likely kept him going during the decades of pushing for Brexit, as well as the 10-week official campaigning period in 2016.
Mr Banks, who also co-founded the unofficial Leave campaign Leave.EU, wrote about his dealings with Mr Farage in his 2017 book ‘The Bad Boys of Brexit’.
Documenting the time between the 2015 General Election and the 2016 Referendum, he described Mr Farage as a “workhorse” who would rarely take a break.
For example, when Mr Banks invited Mr Farage to go on holiday with him he could only be persuaded with the help of the “work-related lure” of fixing up a meeting with Lord Ashcroft.
Even then, Mr Farage would be “up at the crack of dawn” to go fishing and even dictated an op-ed for the Telegraph after a day of drinking.
