Phillip Schofield in stitches after fooling GMB with Elton John stunt ...

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield welcomed viewers to the programme from outside the studio as they geared up for the exciting act.

Although, it wasn’t the real Elton, it was an impersonator by the name of Paul Bacon.

The lookalike sang Elton’s hit I’m Still Standing to a crowd gathered outside the This Morning studio.

But it left Phillip in stitches as many appeared to have been fooled by the stunt.

We fooled the whole of Television Centre

Back in the studio, Phillip observed how staff at the centre, including those from Good Morning Britain, had gone down to see “Elton”.

He chuckled: “I have to say, a number of people have been fooled. The entire residence of Soho House were on the balcony looking out.

“The Good Morning Britain offices have just emptied to come and and see who they think is the real Elton John.”

Davina McCall who was also in the studio in preparation for a cooking segment admitted she thought Paul was the real deal.
