BBC star and Classic FM host Bill Turnbull, 63, was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2017 and has undergone several rounds of chemotherapy. He has since finished his chemotherapy, but is still on a hormone treatment. Speaking of life after chemotherapy, the presenter, who is living with incurable cancer, said: “My hair has grown back and I’m letting my hair grow long just to celebrate. I know I looked awful last year.”

Reflecting on a picture he saw of himself last year, he added: “I saw pictures of myself and I was, ‘Oh Lord, that was just ghastly’.

“I was in the middle of the treatment.”

Despite saying he now “feels fantastic,” the presenter said he had been getting side effects from his hormone treatment.

“I get hot flushes, menopause symptoms,” he told The Mirror.

“Mine won’t last for a bit, my symptoms will go on forever. So that’s a lot of fun.”
