Ms Allen claimed she wanted opponents of Brexit to vote Liberal Democrat outside London and south-east England. The politician said she was concerned about splitting the anti-Brexit vote. However she was overruled by other senior Change UK figures.
Speaking to Channel 4 news Ms Allen said: “Had it been left to me, I would have absolutely advised tactical voting.

“I have no doubt that the British public will look at the tactical voting websites out there and make their own decisions.”
Asked whether she threatened to resign over the issue the former Tory MP replied: “Yes I did.”
