#HattonGarden ENDING EXPLAINED: What happened at the end of Hatton Garden on ...

Hatton Garden has proved a hit with ITV viewers ever since the series premiered after a two-year delay on Monday, May 20. The ITV series is based on the true events of a robbery in London’s diamond district over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend of 2015 and the aftermath of the heist. Terry had told his accomplices in episode three that they shouldn’t make contact with each other for six months.

Hatton Garden viewers soon saw that this was easier said than done as Danny (David Hayman) continued to arrive at Terry’s home.

Elsewhere, Kenny (Alex Norton) had trouble staying out of the sights of the police who tracked him down thank to his Mercedes.

Brian (Kenneth Cranham) also found himself in the firing line after meeting with Kenny in the park.

With the watchful eye of the law cast over Kenny and Brian combined with Danny and Terry’s continued contact, it didn’t bode well for the criminal gang.

Carl gets his cut

Carl (Geoff Bell) hadn’t been seen on the ITV drama since he left the gang in episode two when they returned to the crime scene for the second time.

ITV viewers watched as he abandoned plans to help break into the Hatton Garden safety deposit building over fears of a police set-up.

He returned in the Hatton Garden finale when met by Danny.

Danny tracked him down to his gym and gave him £20,000, although he made sure Carl knew he was far from forgiven.

Carl was given the £20,000 to “keep his mouth shut” and was told he let the team down.
