The BBC Radio 4 host was sacked after he made a “racist” joke about Meghan Markle’s and Prince Harry’s new baby, MirrorOnline reported. Mr Baker shared a picture on Twitter of a couple walking with a chimpanzee in a suit and wrote: “Royal baby leaves hospital”. The 61-year-old will host People’s History of Pop on BBC Radio 4.
The former Radio 5 Live presenter admitted he "f***ed up" and said the post was a "catastrophic" mistake.
He wrote on Twitter: “Good morning, everyone.
"Following one of the worst days of my life I just want to formally apologise for the outrage I caused and explain how I got myself into this mess.
"I chose the wrong photo to illustrate a joke. Disastrously so.
