Bradley Walsh welcomed a host of new contestants on to The Chase this evening who were all hoping to walk away with the jackpot prize after beating the Chaser. David, 65, Claire, 28, Cameron, 19, and Rachel, 40, joined presenter Bradley and today’s Chaser, Shaun Wallace, also known as The Dark Destroyer. First to face the Chaser was David who left Bradley stunned when he listed off what he’s been up to since he retired. David revealed: “Well I do some voluntary work in the food bank and I’m a school governor, I help out with that and I was a political for a while.” Related articles The Chase: Former contestant speaks out on re-filming Bradley's scenes The Chase: ‘Disgusting’ Mark Labbett scolded by Bradley Walsh Shocked, Bradley asked: “Seriously?” to which David replied: “Yeah I was the Mayor of Slough for about a year in 2015.” “No!” Bradley exclaimed before David revealed: “Yeah and I met Prince Phillip and the Queen, it was a great experience.” Fans of the show took a liking to the retiree and took to Twitter to wish him luck. One said: “David seems like a really great bloke #TheChase,” and another wrote: “I love you David, #TheChase.” Commenting on David’s wish to use the money to visit The Hobbit film set in New Zealand, one fan added: “Follow your hobbit dreams, David. Viewers watched as Judith, the second contestant to face the Chaser earned £7,000 in her cash builder round. As she faced the table for her head-to-head with Mark, The Beast revealed he was impressed with her performance. Referencing her job as a vet, he joked: “I’d shake your hand but I don’t know where it’s been.” Stepping in, Bradley remarked: “That’s disgusting!” Related articles The Chase: Bradley Walsh baffled by weather question Bradley Walsh speaks out after star caused ‘CHAOS’ on his show The Chase: David was the Mayor of Slough (Image: ITV) The audience saw the funny side of Mark’s comment and could be heard laughing in the background. Defending herself, Judith hit back and said: “I wear gloves!” Mark’s comment did little to put her off and she added her £7,000 to the jackpot after beating the Chaser. Three contestants made it through to the final and surprisingly Mark crumbled under the pressure. After scoring 17, Mark struggled to score the same and the jackpot prize was won by the team.
