The actress, 34, who is currently expecting her first child with Gorka Marquez, 28, reflected on the difficult time which followed her dad’s death when she was just 17 years old. Sharing a sweet picture which showed her father, David, holding her on his shoulders when she was a baby, Gemma Atkinson shared the details of child bereavement charity Grief Encounter. “As many of you know I am a patron of @griefencounter the bereavement support charity for children and young people,” she told her one million Instagram followers. “I took on the role because having lost my dad at age 17 I know just how heart-breaking and confusing grief is to navigate.

Gemma went on to say she wished she had had access to a similar service when her dad had died.
