BBC Breakfast presenter Steph McGovern was welcomed on to The One Show by co-hosts Angela Scanlon and Rylan Clark-Neal this evening.
Before she joined the hosts, Angela and Rylan dug up a picture of Steph in an Irish dancing costume from when she was younger, causing her to jig her way on to the sofa.
As they discussed Steph’s dancing past, Rylan asked: “Why have you never done Strictly then if you’ve got all of this talent?
“'Cause I think we’d love to see Steph on Strictly, wouldn’t we?” he continued before Angela added: “I’d love to see that!”
Grimacing, Steph explained: “Do you know what it is? I’m so competitive and I think because I did dancing I’d want to be brilliant.”
Referencing her studio entrance, she remarked: “And I think look at me now, look at the way I came on, I was a right mess.”
Angela, who also has a history of Irish dancing, said: “But I also think Irish dancing, you learn to dance from the waist down, the waist up is stiff as a board.”
Sensing Steph might be hiding something, Rylan chipped in: “I think she has a poker face on, she knows something we don’t!”
Laughing, the BBC breakfast presenter didn’t deny Rylan’s comment and The One Show co-hosts continued with the show.
