#GameofThrones favourite Sansa Stark’s tribute to family revealed in costume ...

Sansa Stark (played by Sophie Turner) was crowned Queen of the North during the final ever episode of Game of Thrones which aired on HBO on Sunday night.

When it was decided Bran Stark (Issac Hempstead-Wright) would become King, Sansa told him that the North would never bend the knee to a southern King again and returned to Winterfell as the North’s ruler.

In Sansa’s final scene she could be seen wearing an extravagant gown and crown as members of the North chanted “Queen of the North.”

As well as her coronation outfit being beautifully made, it included a number of hidden meanings that paid tribute to her family.

One Tumblr user explained: “Ok, real talk here, Sansa honoured all her family in her clothes. The Weirwood represented Bran, the one-sided cloak was for Arya, the black of the cloak was Jon, the scaly pattern of the arm was her Mother, the crown was Robb, the sewing needle was herself, the tufts of black fur and unruliness of the cloak was Rickon, and finally the colour of her gown was grey to honour her Father’s house and her entire ancestry.”

Another viewer noticed the tributes and tweeted: “Sansa’s hair is loose, no longer copying others. Her dress has a Weirwood tree in homage to Bran, scales in homage to her mother, its grey in homage to her father and House Stark, she has a crown in homage to Robb’s war, she has a half cloak in homage to her sister…”

Throughout the final season Sansa repeatedly said that the Starks belonged in Winterfell.

Even though she is the only Stark living there by the finale, the homage she gave to her family in her costume was her way of keeping the Stark’s in the North.

Sansa’s outfit isn’t the only way she paid tribute to her family as she rocked a notably different hairstyle.

One fan wrote: “My sister & I were talking about the #GameOfThrones finale & she made a great point - Sansa’s hair has always mimicked people she’s learning from or inspired by. But now, Queen of the North in her own right, she wears it down.
