The First Lady is expected to receive a bespoke tea set made especially by British designer, Emma Bridgewater, the MirrorOnline reported. But US President Donald Trump is set to be given a World War 2 Charter with annotations by Winston Churchill. Theresa May’s spokesman insisted “both gifts have been carefully chosen”.
The spokesman told the MirrorOnline: “The tea set is a memento of a visit to Number 10 as part of what we hope will be a successful state visit.”
Trump will receive a framed copy of the Atlantic Charter agreed by president Franklin Roosevelt and Winston Churchill.
The spokesman added: “It’s a copy of Churchill’s personal draft of August 12, 1941, with his amendments in red pencil.
