#Corrie's Steve McDonald horrified as face from the past RETURNS to ...

Steve (played by Simon Gregson) has seen his taxi firm on Coronation Street taken over by his wife Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) and mother Liz McDonald (Beverly Callard) after the business owner lost control of the company finances.

Worried whether he could keep the business afloat, Steve began picking up customers on the side of the road, which led the taxi driver to become the getaway driver for an armed robbery.

After his life was threatened by the vigilante if he went to the police, Steve was left in turmoil by his ordeal, leading him to confront a group of teenagers when they failed to pay their fare which subsequently saw one of the youngsters knocked down by a car.

The taxi driver has since had his license revoked and has not seen the victim of the car crash since, but Steve will be left reeling when budding football star James Bailey (Nathan Graham) pops up again on the ITV soap next week.

What Steve doesn’t know is James’ family have bought the deeds to No.3, previously owned by cobbles gossip Norris Cole (Malcolm Hebden) who will leave Weathefield once again later this week.

Steve comes face to face with James when he is instructed by Ken Barlow (William Roache) to speak with the neighbours of No. 1 about the level of noise, as the newcomers are renovating the property.

Matriarch of the Bailey family, Aggie Bailey (Lorna Laidlaw) invites the taxi driver into her new home and it’s at this point Steve comes face-to-face with James, going on to explain to the footballer’s parents how the pair know each other.

As Steve tells Aggie and her husband Ed Bailey (Trevor Michael Georges) about the road accident their son was caught up in, the pair are left horrified.

Could they set about getting revenge on Steve for causing their son such distress, or will James step in and tell his parents he and the taxi driver have already made peace after their initial confrontation?

Ed and his family aren’t only the new owners of No.3, they will also take on the deeds to the builders’ yard after Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas)
