The HEARTBREAKING thing Prince William did to ‘comfort’ Princess Diana revealed

Royal experts told the documentary ‘Prince William at Thirty’, uploaded to YouTube in June 2012, that it was often William’s job to be there for Diana when she was down. Royal correspondent Katie Nicholl told one particularly heartbreaking story of when Diana locked herself in the bathroom crying. In an effort to comfort her, her older son pushed tissues underneath the door.

Ms Nicholl said: “There’s one really moving story when Diana was in tears in her bathroom and William was pushing tissues under the door because he could hear her crying.”

Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond added that the roles were often reversed in their relationship.

She explained how William used to say: “It’ll be alright mummy, it’ll be alright, I’ll look after you.”

She added: “It was all the wrong way round for William.
