X-Men fans will know Dark Phoenix is the fourth film in the franchise’s prequel series. However, the movie is also the last under 20th Century Fox, which has now been acquired by Disney. But will the original cast return for X-Men 5 within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is also owned by the studio? Last year, Disney boss Bob Iger revealed that the X-Men characters will now be part of the MCU.
He told The Hollywood Reporter: “I think it only makes sense.
“I want to be careful here because of what’s been communicated to the Fox folks, but I think they know.
“It only makes sense for Marvel to be supervised by one entity.
“There shouldn’t be two Marvels.”
