The US President’s daughter, nicknamed the First Daughter in Washington DC, was due to hold talks with the defence secretary on Tuesday but pulled out the night before to join her father for talks with Theresa May instead. Aides then arranged a brief conversation at Buckingham Palace on Monday night for the two women to chat during the Queen’s state banquet. Ms Mordant, who is also minister for women, wanted Ms Trump’s assistance for proposals for a new Government-wide women’s empowerment strategy.
A source close to the defence secretary told The Sun: “Their teams are looking at organising another separate and more formal meeting in due course.
“The Trumps are a pretty demanding lot.
“What they want to do changes all the time, and it’s been chaos trying to accommodate them all.”
