The Handmaid’s Tale takes the brutal, harrowing dystopia from viewers’s doorsteps and places them in TV screens for an hour a week.

And although it looked like June (played by Elisabeth Moss) was free of her shackles in the finale of season two when she escaped from Gilead, she went on to do the unthinkable: she returned.

Despite getting her daughter, Holly, to safety, her first-born, Hannah, was still trapped in the horrific locale.

Season three is already three episodes in and it’s certain June will find herself in plenty of horrific situations.

Bruce Miller, showrunner for the Hulu epic, recently spoke to Variety about what is to come for June teasing her outlook is quite good.

During the interview he explained: “She’s winning more because she’s figured out the game.

“She’s a very patient character and - especially the way Lizzie plays her - she’s incredibly observant and she’s a great listener.

“And over time she’s accrued enough information; she has more tools in her toolbox and feels better suited to the game.”

He went on to talk about the changes that June will face in the upcoming episodes, and how different she will feel to viewers of her powerful journey.
