In the Game of Thrones series finale, Daenerys (played by Emilia Clarke) attacks King’s Landing and burns it to the ground.
She does this in revenge for her family being overthrown and replaced by the Baratheon dynasty and then the Lannister dynasty.
Fans were horrified as she transformed into the Mad Queen and killed thousands of innocent men, women and children seemingly for no reason in the HBO series.
Blinded by her quest for the Iron Throne, she could not see how killing those lives made her a murderer, as lover Jon Snow (Kit Harington) saw her for what she really is for the first time.
In a shocking scene, Jon stabbed her after Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) persuaded him he had to do it for the good of Westeros.
Then, in scenes that further shocked fans and left them confused, Bran (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) was crowned as the King and known as Bran the Broken.
Fans wondered why Bran was given the crown after not really featuring in season eight and were left disappointed.
However, it has emerged his role in Daenerys’s Mad Queen descent was completely ignored.
In earlier seasons, he became the three-eyed raven, which meant he was able to see into the past and future and it was for this reason that Tyrion suggested he be crowned.
