Arya Stark’s devastating death sealed in historical #GameOfThrones clue?

Arya Stark (played by Maisie Williams) revealed her plans to go exploring in the Game of Thrones season eight finale.

She told sister Sansa (Sophie Turner), brother Bran (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) and Jon Snow (Kit Harington) she wouldn’t be heading back to the north.

Arya asked: “What’s west of Westeros?” and none of her siblings were able to reply.

And it seems there be a reason why no one knows what is to the west - because no one has ever returned.

In George R.R Martin’s books, a number of explorers are referenced including Arya’s ancestor Brandon the Shipwright.

Brandon is one of those who has headed west on the Sunset Sea and was never heard from again.

So, it seems that it’s unlikely Arya will ever return to Westeros and could even perish on her journey.

It comes after it was pointed out Arya did fulfil Melisandre’s (Carice Van Outen) prophecy despite many fans believing she didn’t.

In season three, Melisandra told the deadly assassin: “I see a darkness in you, and in that darkness, eyes staring back at me.

“Brown eyes, blue eyes, green eyes, eyes you’ll shut forever. We will meet again.”
