#TheWalkingDead star Chandler Riggs speaks out on latest Carl Grimes bombshell

The Walking Dead viewers were a little upset when it was announced Rick Grimes (played by Andrew Lincoln) would be killed off in the show.

Fortunately for fans, Rick wasn’t killed off, but simply flown away in an inexplicable helicopter.

Following that, it was announced Andrew would star in a number of TV movies to conclude Rick’s ongoing storyline.

However the comic book source material is entirely different from the show, and has recently killed off Rick for good after years as the comic book’s main protagonist.

While many fans of the franchise didn’t think they would ever see the day Rick was killed off, this event has certainly come as quite a shock to many people - including members of the show.

In the comic books Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs) will be taking over as the protagonist - something the TV show’s rendition of the character never had an opportunity to do.

The Walking Dead’s Twitter account is pretty vocal about the recent death of Rick, and Carl’s former actor Chandler has now spoken out about the bold move.

Replying to a tweet Chandler wrote: “U actually did it holy s**t.

“Timing was rock solid though & it's so sick seeing Carl as the new protagonist.”

With Carl helming Alexandria and Hilltop in the comic books from now on, readers will certainly see a hugely different story play out in the weeks to come.
