Rose Hanbury, the Marchioness of Cholmondeley, and Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, were the closest of friends at one point. The two women were central to a high-society Norfolk social set nicknamed the “Turnip toffs”. But after a falling out, Kate reportedly cut Rose out of her life.
Last week, Rose and Kate attended their first public event together since rumours of the rift began to circulate.
Both women stepped out in their finest for the royal state banquet last week, hosted by the Queen for the visiting US President, Donald Trump.
Kate and Rose arrived separately and were seated apart but eagle-eyed royal fans noticed something else unusual: Rose wasn’t wearing her wedding ring.
Rose, 35, has been married to David Rocksavage, 58, who is the 7th Marquess of Cholmondeley and Lord Great Chamberlain since 2009.
