Season eight of Game of Thrones reunited Brienne (played by Gwendoline Christie) and Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) in Winterfell.
Fans of the HBO series were delighted as the two finally had sex and it appeared Jaime had moved on from sister and lover Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey).
However, he broke her heart, and fans’ hearts, when he left Winterfell to go to be by Cersei’s side at the end.
He eventually died by Cersei's side as the Red Keep collapsed above them after Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) burned King’s Landing to the ground.
His death did, however, give Brienne the chance to write his achievements into the White Book in which the members of the Kingsguard’s life memories are recorded.
In the moving scenes in the final ever episode, Brienne wrote his tribute whilst a familiar tune played in the background.
The music in the background has been confirmed as “wedding” music in a huge hint at what their destinies could have been.
Game of Thrones composer Ramin Djawadi has confirmed the music was placed there intentionally.
He told INSIDER: "It's just a hint of what their relationship — if they had stayed together, if he was still alive — what it could have been. What they could have become. That's why I put that in there."
The song has the same melody as that played at Robb Stark (Richard Madden) and Talisa Maegyr’s (Oona Chaplin) secret wedding.
