In the first two episodes of Fear the Walking Dead season five, these walkers have provided a whole new threat just as the survivors thought they had learnt how to kill all walkers.
These walkers are harder to kill than any other previous walker on the AMC show because of the risk of contamination if the survivors come into contact with them.
They have the potential to kill the survivors if their blood becomes infected with their deadly radioactivity.
It is a big shakeup for the Fear team as they transition from solely surviving to a world of hope and a future.

However, show runners Ian Goldberg and Andrew Chambliss have spoken to Entertainment Weekly about the walkers and revealed they were actually meant to be introduced in a previous season.
Andrew said: “Just to add, we almost did radioactive zombies in season four, but we just really didn’t have the room for it, so it’s something we kind of had in our back pocket that we were very excited about, and just having walkers that weren’t as easy to kill.
“Most of our characters are pretty proficient at killing walkers now, and the fact that there are now walkers out there that you can’t kill in the regular way because if you get their blood on them you could potentially be exposed to contaminated particles, was something that got us really excited.”
So Morgan (played by Lennie James) and his group might not even have made it this far if they had been introduced last season because it is clear this is a threat like no other.
The pair also spoke about Alicia Clark’s (Alycia Debnam-Carey) role in this season and how she represents the new believe in hope after just killing anyone who crossed her
