Although Prince Harry had taken an active role in the birth of his son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten Windsor, attitudes were very different when Prince Charles was born. In her book, ‘My Husband and I: The Insider Story of 70 Years of Royal Marriage’, royal expert Ingrid Steward described the reaction to Prince Charles’ birth. Such was the privateness of childbirth at the time, that Charles’ birth by Caesarean was never officially disclosed.
Writing in her book, Ms Ingrid also revealed what the Duke of Edinburgh was doing at the time.
