Coronation Street viewers were introduced to The Bailey’s this week after they bought No. 3 from Norris Cole (played by Malcolm Hebden), but their arrival on the cobbles might not be as innocent as it seems.
During today’s instalment of the ITV soap viewers watched as The Bailey’s settled into their new home and were introduced to some of their neighbours.
Footballer James Bailey (Nathan Graham) was first seen on the Street when he was run over as he was chased by cab driver Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) for refusing to pay a fare.
However the rising star explained it was his friends who were to blame and the pair ended up sharing a heart-to-heart as Steve opened up about his recent troubles.
James’ parents, Edison (Trevor Michael George) and Aggie Bailey (Lorna Laidlaw), and his brother Michael (Ryan Russell) have now joined James but little is known about where they have come from.
The footballer had been trying to keep his encounter with Steve a secret but Edison and Maggie discovered James had been drinking at the time after a conversation with Steve.
Back at the house, James asked if he could enjoy a drink with the rest of the family causing Aggie to remark: So you can get as drunk as you were when you hopped that
