Sheila Hancock is BAFTA-nominated actress who has starred in films such as Alice in Wonderland and The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas. She trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art before she kicked off her acting career working in theatre. Despite being 86-years-old, the actress doesn’t shy away from exercise and staying in shape. While preparing to star in the film Edie, about climbing a mountain, she joined a gym and discovered her love for weightlifting.

Speaking of her fitness routine, Sheila explained she felt her muscles wasting away until she started weightlifting.
After enlisting the help of a personal trainer, she began to build back her strength with weight training.
“I’ve been weight lifting. I love it. I’ve never done weights before. I always go to the gym but I usually do cardio,” the Mirror reported.
As well as being motivated to get fit for her new role, Sheila wanted to build her strength after she realised she could no longer lift her own luggage up at the airport.
