The problem of the Irish Backstop has been one of the major issues surrounding Brexit, and DUP MP, Jeffrey Donaldson has laid the problem at Ireland’s doorstep. Speaking to RTE radio’s Morning Ireland, Mr Donaldson urged the Irish Government to agree a timeline to the Backstop in order to help break the Brexit deadlock. Mr Donaldson urged the Government to issue a timeframe on the matter in order to provide clarity for the public.
He said on the programme: “Dublin knows that the problem is.
“The Irish Government is refusing to budge on the time scale.
That’s the only problem.
“Parliament could agree if that was removed.”
