Donald Trump, the President of the United States, spoke about his wife in a recent interview.
The business-tycoon-turned-politician married his wife in 2005 and they have one son, Barron Trump, 13.
They reportedly met at a Fashion Week party in New York when Melania Trump, born in Slovenia, was working as a fashion model.
The President is often vocal in praise for his wife, and that was the case in the recent interview.
The President called into TV programme Fox & Friends and spoke about his wife.
He compared his wife to former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.
Also known as “Jackie O” the former First Lady was married to John F. Kennedy. She was seen as a style icon and is still the most recognisable First Lady of all time.
Donald said in Friday’s interview: “There was Jackie O, and that’s good.
“But we have our own Jackie O today. It’s called Melania.
“Melania. We’ll call it Melania T. Okay?”
The President has never referred to his wife in public as “Melania T” before but perhaps Donald has let slip a sweet nickname for his wife.
Continuing to praise his partner, he added: “By the way, people love her. People love her. She gets no credit from the media but she gets credit from the people.”
Donald has spoken about his marital bliss with Melania in a public forum many times over the years.
In an interview with with Larry King in 2005, just after their wedding, the two chatted about being together.
